It’s lunchtime and you’re faced with the inevitable question of what to eat again. Unfortunately, the choice between another salad or a stodgy sandwich just isn’t as appealing as it should be. Luckily, there is something new you can try to break up mealtime monotony. If you are looking for a change, why not sample ? They are a delicious alternative to your usual midday meal.

Try for something different

With eight pre-sliced thins to a pack, all you have to do is decide on the fillings. And at only 105 calories per serve you can pretty much layer your thins with as many or few toppings as you wish. Additionally, they are high in fibre for an added boost to your dietary intake. Maintaining your wellbeing while managing a hectic schedule can be challenging. This product is great for busy people who are carb or calorie conscious.

They are conveniently packaged to make your life a little easier

Convenience really is the focus of this pre-packaged bakery item. The thins come in two individually wrapped packs of four so you can save a packet for another time. Although freezing them isn’t recommended, I found that they keep rather well this way. You can take them straight from the freezer and pop them into the toaster. With minimal preparation or effort required you will have a light and healthy meal on your plate in minutes.

Use your favourite ingredients to create the perfect sandwich

Furthermore, you can choose between toasting them, grilling them or simply eating them straight from the pack. As they aren’t freshly baked I prefer consuming them either grilled or toasted. However, try out the alternatives and see what you like best. The great part about this product is that they are versatile. You can create a tasty meal anytime, at home or work. And by using your favourite toppings you can be sure you’ll love it every time.

Prepare an open grill for something special

The thins also come in a white variety, however, I have only tried the wholemeal ones. They are soft, while being ever so slightly chewy. If you grill or toast them you get the contrast of a crispy exterior which is nice too. The wholemeal variety has a distinct taste, which I find is similar to most wholemeal breads. Depending on your choice of fillings or toppings you can create different flavour combinations. However, the thins always provide a great base for your sandwich.

A toasted sandwich with lots of fresh ingredients makes for a healthy lunch

I do recommend these sandwich thins as an alternative to bread if you are looking to reduce the amount of calories or carbs in your diet. Additionally, they will probably be more filling than a simple salad, without increasing your consumption by too much. They taste good and provide you with a simple and nutritious meal. Therefore, if you are tired of the same lunchtime options give these a go and keep your tastebuds happy. At $3 a pack from Coles, it’s worth trying something different.
