Deepcool N19 Notebook Cooler

A problem many people have with laptops is the heat they generate underneath. The N19 Notebook Cooler from Deepcool offers a solution. It sits underneath a laptop or notebook and uses a large 140 millimetre fan to blow air through a panel of aluminium mesh towards the computer, in order to keep it cool and help prolong its life.





The cooler is very easy to use. All you have to do is connect it to your computer via a cord which plugs into the USB drive. The cooler will then turn on when your laptop turns on, and turn off when your laptop turns off.

The product has been designed to be pretty slim and portable too. It is only 2.4 centimetres thick and there is a compartment underneath where the cord fits nicely when not in use. It's also promoted as 'super silent' and while you can hear the fan going, it's a whole lot quieter than a laptop fan working overtime.



One useful feature the cooler has is the foldable stand, which means you can have your laptop lying flat or raised at an angle. Because it's sitting on the cooler already, you can end up with the screen raised quite close to eye level, which some might appreciate, but it does mean the keypad is higher too.



I first used the notebook cooler on top of my Lap Desk. This arrangement meant I was balancing a stack of products on my lap and unfortunately I found that my laptop slid around a lot on top of the cooler, which has no grip to keep anything in place. However, computers with better grip than mine may have no issues here and if you use the cooler at a table, as I later did, once you've set yourself up you shouldn't have a problem.



The best indication of how well the cooler actually works is the fact that it has enabled my dad to continue using his laptop. It was rendered useless when the fan stopped working, causing the laptop to constantly overheat and shut down. Using this cooler, he can now use it normally again.

The particular Deepcool cooler I have is designed for laptops up to 14 inches in size, but it's not the only cooler the company produces and you may find another that better suits your product. Some of them even have additional features, like the opportunity to adjust the angle of the stand, or a choice of colours.
