Obsession is a strong word, but I would say it applies in this context; I am somewhat taken with the Yves Saint Lauren Rouge Volupte lipstick. I have been using it for the past five years. The richness, the texture, and quality of the lipstick is the best I have come across.

Thus, I tend to invest, and I have invested for the past five years in an incredible range of colours which are highly moisturising, long lasting and sumptuous.

The colour I used most is number 25, which is a tan, nudeish pink colour, which works with my skin tone perfectly. It is this reason specifically that I buy the lipstick all the time. Rouge volupte is the only DUAL matt and moisture 'lip' in the YSL make up range.

Every time I wear rouge volupte - no matter the shade - I receive compliments and those outside of my family circle ask what lipstick I am wearing. I have even got my friends addicted to the rouge volupte range, and though my friends are from different ethnic backgrounds, a handful use rouge volupte because YSL have genuinely catered for every skin tone.

The other colours are fantastic, highly pigmented and the perfect balance between matte and a gentle sheen. These days beauty trends chop and change, but the matte lip seems to be the powerful look which has dominated catwalks the past six seasons. YSL rouge volupte, thus is on-trend, current, and yet still has a timeless finish due to the slight sheen which definitely makes your lips look fuller.

Funnily enough I have collected all of the lipsticks over the past few seasons, with the casing changing ever so slightly from a mirror at the end of the lipstick tube to the same gold casing wrapping itself round the rest of the tube.

In my eyes YSL have catered to the customer perfectly; in previous seasons the mirror was rather handy when you were applying your lipstick. The new casing (started in 2011), featured the polished high-shine gold casing, which doubled as a mirror because it is a polished top, which never dulls unlike the case around the lipstick tube.

Call me candid, but I couldn't love this product more. While it is great to change your 'look', and be daring, a fail safe lip, which gives you a powerful pout, frankly, cannot be argued with.
