I agree that this product is better value & flavour than the whole slices. I use them for a sweet & sour dish that can be be used as a salad or a vegetable. I semi drain the beets using the lid. I put the juice only to simmer in a saucepan with a generous tblspn of light brown sugar, stir to dissolve. I then make a paste with a rounded tblspn of cornstarch plus less of wine or white vinegar or which other you prefer, residual beet juice as needed to dissolve this & then add to the pan & let boil gently,Add whatever spice appeals & then the beets, simmer a few minutes. Cool for a salad later or use as a vegetable. Keeps well!
