Who doesn't love chocolate? While people have their favorite brands of chocolate, I have a few favorites and one of them is Whittaker's Chocolate.
Whittaker's brand is a New Zealand based confectionery manufacturer specializing in chocolate manufacturing process from "bean-to-bar". It was established in 1896 by James Henry Whittaker. Today, it is still a family business owned by the third generation of Whittaker.
Slabs - Peanut, Almond Gold and Dark Peanut
Whittaker's has a range of products such as blocks, chunks, mini slabs, slabs, sante and squares. My favorite is Slabs which comes with nine different varieties to choose from - peanut, dark peanut, almond gold, coconut, berry & biscuits, Honey pokey, creamy milk, raisin peanut, hazelnut, super peanut, super dark peanut, and super almond gold.
Ingredients of different varities
If you haven't tried it yet, it is recommended to try the Original Peanut Slab (33% cocoa and 35% roasted peanuts) and for those who prefer bittersweet chocolate, go for Dark Peanut Slab (50% cocoa and 35% roasted peanuts)
Each slab has a serving size of 50g which is just nice for one serving.
Embossed brand name on each slab
Whittaker brand name is elegantly embossed on each slab.
Original Peanut Slab
To illustrate the content of the chocolate bar, I've unwrapped it and chopped the bar in half but before that, can you see the peanuts already?
With 30% of cocoa and 35% of peanuts, it is surely packed with nuts with chocolate binding them together. The sweetness and the rich chocolaty flavor is balanced out by the crunchy roasted peanuts. I prefer the bittersweet peanut slab more than the original because it's less sweet and richer in cocoa content.
These slabs are very addictive! They keep you nibbling on it and soon before long, a slab is gone! The packaging makes these chocolate bars easy to carry in a handbag or even in a pocket. They are great for snack and perhaps good for "stress relieve" at work?
Most of the products are also gluten free, kosher and halal accredited. For more information on each product information, visit Whittaker's Chocolate
