Tiny, tangy and tasty are just a few words which describe Toscano assorted petit macarons. Available from Woolworths, each box costs $10 and contains two of each flavour - raspberry, pistachio, coffee, lemon, vanilla and chocolate. Although I was sceptical at first ("How could store bought macarons ever compare to the real thing!" I thought), these macarons are of a surprisingly good quality for a store bought treat. While not as pretty or crunchy as the freshly made ones you see in pattisierie windows, Toscano Macarons have a strong flavour and chewy texture. My personal favourite was Raspberry, though it's hard to choose when they all taste so good! All in all, these macarons are a definite success, the perfect accompaniment to your after dinner cup of tea.
The new formulation of macarons is terrible. Nothing like the old ones. The raspberry just have cheap jam in the middle. The texture of all flavours is nothing like the old ones and the flavour is nothing like the old ones. They used to be perfect before but the new formulation in the new packaging is terrible
