Finding the perfect foundation is always a trial and error process, and after much deliberation as well as make up failures I've finally found the right shade and brand for myself. Nars Sheerglow tinted moisturiser is my foundation of choice for a number of reasons.

Nars, foundation, makeup

Firstly it isn't strictly a foundation, even though it is in the foundation--as opposed to moisturiser--section of the concession counter.

Now I don't have fantastic skin, but many describe it as 'good', and I cannot stand wearing a lot of makeup because I do not like the feel. Being mixed race I also find other brands only have a select few shades for darker skin tones. I have used MAC in the past, but I have ended up with a slightly ashy complexion, or an orange face. I think all who've used foundation can admit to such make up blunders. Thus it is with delight that I found sheer glow.

The tinted moisturiser is great. I use shade 'Syracuse' in the Nars foundation, but that's for evenings out, and for a more polished daytime look I'd rather use a lighter foundation, which covers imperfections, but also allows my skin to breathe, without being barefaced.

The tinted moisturiser looks like a foundation, but once you apply it to your skin it is a lot lighter, and the coverage is not as thick as a normal foundation, but not as thick as other tinted moisturisers I've used too.

Personally, I'd describe the coverage as medium to light, which is perfect for what I consider a daytime look when you don't want to be caked in makeup. What I love most about the tinted moisturiser, however, is the glow it gives me. True to it's title, it is sheer, but literally makes your skin glow, it's fantastic. Think of the dewy model-skin you see on the catwalks, that is exactly how it makes me feel, and I always receive compliments on how 'good' my skin looks, so I can't be wrong.

For £25 Nars sheerglow tinted moisturiser isn't the cheapest, but it is definitely the best I've ever used. Glowing model-like skin is definitely what I'm after, and while healthy eating and keeping hydrated is all well and good, for an instant, more polished 'you', Nars is undoubtedly my go-to product.
