Lipstick has long been seen as a dated product to use on your lips because lip gloss has reined strong since the late 90's. In the last five years however, lipstick has regained popularity, and is now considered the only way to colour your pout.
Make up brand MAC cottoned on to this trend years ago, and they have a number of different lip stick varieties, from matte, retro matte (super-matte), satin (semi-matte), frost (shimmery and shiny), lustre (balm-like with some colour) and my favourite, cream sheen. Cream sheen is my favourite.
This type of lipstick from beauty big whigs MAC is the perfect marriage of strong colour and moisture. I cannot stand dry lips; matte colour can be great, but a powdery lip has never been a look I've favoured.
MAC has got it right with the blend of jojoba oils and intense colour, which makes your lips stand out. I usually purchase a strong shade because the cream sheen lipsticks are highly pigmented with on-trend colours.
The crayon-lip trend has been floating around for the past year, so I purchased MAC's Coral Bliss shade a few weeks ago, and haven't been able to stop using it.
I love the colour, but also the staying power of the lipstick. For $18 AUD (£15.00 UK), Cream Sheen lipstick is at the pricier end of what I normally like to pay for lipstick, but I'm addicted to the wear and colour of my new buy.
This particular shade works well on medium to darker skin tones, and can be relatively sheer for a day time look, or layered up for an impressive evening look.
Find MAC's Cream Sheen in Selfridges stores across the UK, or online via their website.
