I grew up with this European smoked ham de luxe. Although I am partly vegetarian now, I could not resist this as I have not had it for years.

I love it as it is not dry like ham, and is sliced wafer thin.

In taste, it is perhaps a mixture between ham and bacon, only it is very soft, melts in your mouth, and is salty.

I bought this at The Re Store, 231 Oxford Street, Leederville, WA for $30.95 per kilo. The amount in the photo cost $1.90.

It is expensive however you only need a tiny bit on a piece of rye bread, and it is DELICIOUS.

Love VERY thinly sliced Prosciutto, Jamon, Ham Off Bone, Corned Meat, & Veal German.
Haven't seen Lachsschinken, but if I do, I'll try it, as love salty deli meats!
