Illasmasqua is known in the beauty industry as going all-out with their make up. Every lipstick, eye shadow, and blusher is highly pigmented, with carefully selected ingredients which deliver. Their eyelashes range is extensive, and some are simply too much for my face shape and personality. Thus I purchased their fine false eye lashes (£12.00), for a natural look.
False eyelashes have been on the rise in the last five years. I recall my days at university, applying them (or trying to), and loving my new wide-eyed look.
I like to buy products which enhance my eyes, or highlight my cheekbones, as opposed to hide my face under the make up. The set of false eyelashes, are so fine they're almost unnoticeable, which is exactly what I wanted. I hoped that when applied, they would look as natural as possible.
I applied a fine amount of duo-glu to the eyelashes, allowed them to get sticky, and gently applied them to my lashes.
Eyelashes are generally fiddly, and can be annoying, so the level of comfort, and ease of applying, and removing the lashes has been duly noted. The lashes were surprisingly easy to apply, and although the false lash line is quite thin, I found the glue easy to apply, and they didn't fall apart in my less-than-delicate hands.
Once applied I thought I had quite a natural look, so I decided to wear them during the day time. I have never had so many people compliment me at work, truly. Male and female members of staff commented that I looked 'nice' the day I wore them,
In the past I've worn false eyelashes, and they've fallen off by the end of a night. I'm not a messy dancer, nor do I drink, so I figured, the false eyelashes simply didn't stick properly. With the Illasmasqua lashes, they stayed put all day (and night).
To remove the lashes I gently pulled them free. They were oddly easy to remove considering their staying power, either way I was impressed.
I was only interested in the interior goods, but on the back of the box is a story. A short narrative details the why of false eyelashes, and the brand's alternative make up looks.
Illamasqua is stocked exclusively in Selfridges, but can also be found online. They ship and have stores worldwide.
