Sometimes scents transport you back to places, whisk you off your feet and take you to a moment, a memory, or a feeling.
Elemis frangipani and monoi body oil does that to me, and not merely because the fragrance is divine.
I was holidaying in Abu Dhabi, and staying in a friend's apartment. After I'd showered I couldn't help but use her rather overstuffed bathroom cabinet of goodies, when I found the sublime body oil by Elemis.
The oil is encased in a red glass bottle, and it is topped with a little silver lid, which comes off easily with a few twists. The bottle did it for me in Abu Dhabi; it looks like a product you'd find in a spa, let alone a friend's bathroom cabinet. However, that is all part of the luxury.
Intrigued by the bottle, I realised the oil solidifies when cool, thus to be able to use the liquid I merely put the bottle on the balcony for 10 minutes, and it had melted. Since my holiday, I warm the bottle on a radiator for no more than 10 minutes, and it becomes a luxurious liquid.
The body oil smells absolutely divine. I have never smelled anything like it; tropical and sweet, the body oil has coconut undertones, with fruity, syrup-like top notes. It is not a sickly scent, but a delicate one, which I like to drape my body in.
It moisturises your skin beautifully. I like to use it after the bath, when skin is slightly damp because it locks in moisture and gives you skin the most amazing scent. It makes my arms smooth to the touch, and all of my friends comment when I have used this product.
I purchased the 35ml bottle from the concession in Debenhams. For £15 I have enjoyed using this little wonder product. The oil is available in a larger 100ml both in store, and on the Debenhams website, and Elemis
online store.
