Black lipstick is all the rage. It stormed the catwalks in 2011 and became a hit when a number of models across the world donned a wine-stained lip, deep in colour, impeccably applied, and of course, matte.
Collection 2000 is one of the bargain beauty brands on the market, only sold in Superdrug in the UK, but available online.
Considering the purse friendly prices I never expected Collection 2000 to follow the new lip trend, but they have nailed it with matte lipstick in a number of key shades: nude, wine, red, and pink.
I was feeling daring, so bought their new dark lipstick at £2.50.
Surprisingly creamy and not drying at all. The colour stays on your lips, and after three mugs of tea only then does the lipstick begin to show a slight dullness.
Every time I wear this colour lipstick I get compliments, but friends always ask which brand because of its staying power. I wore this lip colour when my sisters and I went for lunch recently, and after a bowl of soup, and drinking a bottle of water my lipstick stayed in tact, to the amazement of both my sisters and myself.
For a colour which packs a punch Collection 2000's 'lasting fix' lipstick for £2.50, is clearly the one. I've invested in their red, pink, and orange lipstick too. Perhaps I have a new favourite, all I know is that Collection 2000 has lasted with me.
