Parmesan truffle cream sounds too good to be true don't you think? Well, not if you're Brezzo, the Italian company who make the luxurious truffle-infused cream, for foodies like myself.
Imported directly from Italy the Parmesan is is combined with the delicacy for an intense shot of cheese, truffle, goodness.
TartufLanghe Parmigiano Reggiano Cream with Truffle
This tasty cream sauce is ideal to dress risotto, gnocchi, ravioli and all types of short and long pasta. It can also be used as a spread or tart filling to make appetisers, or as a topping for steamed vegetables.
I use it to flavour both fruit and vegetables. Drizzled over figs it becomes an indulgent dessert, and when used to top vegetables the cream takes on a depth a a standard cheese sauce lacks.
I bought mine from Anderson and Hill, but the cream (available in mushroom and double cream), are available via the E Tarrufo website.
At 7.50 per tub (per 190g), E Tartufo have created a high end product, but it's worth digging (not so), deep for because the quality of the cream is unparalleled.
It would be easy to allow the cream to gather dust in your pantry, but I urge you to not admire the tub from a distance, but to use it often. A little goes a long way because the cream is so rich. Here's to a happy topping.
