Shimmer bricks are generally a 'three-in-one' blusher, bronzer and highlighter. However, a lot of makeup companies get it wrong, and the seperate can be very 'off', and don't work well together. Make up artist to the stars, Bobbi Brown, thankfully knows what she is doing, and has created a Shimmer Brick compact (£32.00), which I adore.
The shimmer brick has a total of five shimmering shades, which work together to create a stunning sheen when applied to the skin.
My friend recommend this 'brick' when I said I was looking for a natural highlighter and bronzer. A lot of the time because I am darker skinned highlighter is barely visible, and bronzer is too light. So I was impressed with the shimmer brick.
I applied the shimmery blusher/bronzer on top of tinted moisturiser, so it was visible without looking heavy. It gives a gentle glow, which is exactly what I was looking for.
It is easy to build colour using this shimmer brick because it goes on to the skin relatively light, which is just what I like about it. Too often have I used blushers/bronzers in the past where even the one stroke of brush has made me a silly shade of bright pink.
You can buy Bobbi Brown from House of Fraser, Selfridges, as well as online (Amazon, Ebay), if you're not in the UK (I bought mine in Mall of the Emirates in Abu Dhabi).
For a noticable sheen, and an ever so slightly sculpted look Bobbi Brown is my choice of highlighter, blusher and bronzer - I do love an all-in-one.
