Africa's Best Organics Hair Conditioner is an emolient-like rich product, aimed at Afro-Caribbean hair.

Don't mistake this for a hair conditioner you use after shampoo, it is a product which has the same texture as vaseline, but is much lighter if you get my meaning.

It turns my curly hair into soft, manageable curls. Once I've applied it all over my hair, my bushy mane is turned into defined curls, and perfumed with the scent of tropical fruits.

Organics hair conditioner does contain fragrance, but I don't think it does much to harm my hair because I haven't suffered any skin reaction, and I am normally sensitive to any harsh chemicals. The medium sized jar is full of organic and natural ingredients such as rosemary, almond oils, and aloe vera.

The pot is the perfect size, and fits in my handbag, which is great because my hair naturally firzzes when the weather is humid, so you can take it with you when dreaded humidity strikes.

I would advise this product is great for little heads too. Taming children's curly, frizzy, and afro hair can be a morning challenge, as I only know too well (my mother used to sit my two sisters and I down every morning to begin the morning hair brushing), but I can honestly say this product makes my hair a delight to work with. After conditioning I am always wary of how to handle my hair, because the tight curls and knots form pretty quickly, but I used this product last night about an hour after washing the conditioner out of my hair, and for the first time, I finger combed this through my hair, and this morning it is still soft, run-my-fingers-through-it manageable. That is a first, so I am very impressed.

I didn't use a lot on my hair, but if you have afro hair I recommnend only using it on your scalp and roots because the product will naturally work its way down to the ends of your hair as you run your fingers through it. Don't be tempted to put it from root to tip because your hair will be slightly greasy, and if your hair is shoulder length like mine, your neck might get a light coating of product.

Once you've used the product you hair will be shiny, soft, but have a slight greasiness because of the natural oils in the conditioner. The greasiness dissipates after about an hour, but your hair will stay defined, surprisingly 'swingy', and shiny.

I am genuinely shocked and surprised by how good this product is for curly hair; I have only ever used hte Organics herbal conditioner as a heat protector when straightening my hair. It works extremely well at keeping my hair moisturised and easier to straighten, when using a hair dryer, or a pair of straighteners.

Now that I know the product works well on both straight and curly hair, I am definitely going to use it more often. At 2.49 (from Beauty World), it is one of the cheaper products I've used, and now a firm favourite.
